Retailworks-designed Milwaukee bar earns state recognition for outstanding interior renovation
We’re thrilled to share that our client, Summer of ’85, has been recognized by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) with the Best Interior Renovation, Large Scale award at the 35th Wisconsin Main Street Awards ceremony held in Wausau, Wisconsin.
This honor celebrates the stunning transformation of a space on Milwaukee’s Historic King Drive into a vibrant, two-level ’80s-themed bar and dining destination, complete with neon lights, graffiti murals, a DJ stage, and all the nostalgic energy the era deserves.
Retailworks’ designers Holley Bakich and Shauna Cheema were proud to partner with owners Paul Burgess and Julie Lukas on this project, developing their branding and logo which served as the creative foundation for all interior design elements, finishes, fixtures, and décor direction. It was a joy from start to finish.
We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to the Historic King Drive Business Improvement District #8 for their support of this project and their ongoing commitment to strengthening one of Milwaukee’s most storied business corridors.
Thank you to WEDC for this meaningful recognition and a heartfelt thank you to Summer of ’85 for trusting Retailworks to help bring their vision to life. Projects like this are exactly why we love what we do.
